How to grow Vegetables for Exhibition – Part 1

One of our most experienced members in vegetable growing will talk about and give guidance on growing vegetables for exhibition.  Session open to society members and members of our affiliated societies, free of charge. This is the first of three sessions.  No requirement to attend all sessions - each one will concentrate on action at the actual time of the session. This will take place in the Norwich area, to the west of the city.  Please contact the General Secretary if you wish to take part.

Spring Show

The Costessey Centre Longwater Lane, Costessey

Our Spring show will feature Daffodils, cut flowers, pot plants, vegetables, cookery and floral art. Plant and second-hand gardening book sales.  Refreshments available. All welcome.  Free admission, donations welcome.

Affiliated Societies Meeting

The Costessey Centre Longwater Lane, Costessey

An opportunity for representatives from our affiliated societies to meet and discuss common issues and best practices. In the Jerningham Room on the first floor at The Costessey Centre.

President’s Evening at Little Plumstead Walled Garden

The Walled Garden, Little Plumstead Old Hall Road, Little Plumstead, Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom

Members & affiliated society members plus their guests are invited to join our President, Julia Stafford Allen, at Little Plumstead Walled Garden for a social evening with refreshments and an opportunity to view the work completed in the garden.  Julia is the County Organiser  for the National Garden Scheme Norfolk and the Walled Garden is one of the venues that opens for the National Garden Scheme. Arrive from 6pm for a 6.30pm start.  The Walled Garden shop will be open until 7pm for browsing/purchases.  Refreshments will be served from 6.30pm. Booking details to follow.

This is the second of three sessions.  No requirement to attend all sessions - each one will concentrate on action at the actual time of the session. This will take place in the Norwich area, to the west of the city.  Please contact the general secretary if you wish to take part.

Summer Show

Norfolk Showground Dereham Road, Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom

Our summer show will take place within the Garden Village at the Royal Norfolk Show and feature cut flowers, pot plants, vegetables and fruit.  Norwich Group of Flower Clubs organise the floral art exhibits alongside our show. Entry to our show is open to all.  Please see separate Show pages. Visitors need to purchase a ticket to the Royal Norfolk Show.

Redisham Hall Garden Visit

Redisham Hall Nurseries Redisham Hall, Redisham, Beccles, Suffolk, United Kingdom

Members and their guests are invited to join us on a private afternoon visit to the gardens at Redisham Hall Nurseries. As well as the Walled kitchen garden you will be able to enjoy the Herbaceous borders, Lawns, Shrubberies, Woodland garden, Ha-Ha wall, ponds, Arboretum & Mature trees. Followed by tea & cake in the Nursery Tearoom. Booking details to follow.

Holiday to RHS Bridgewater & Tatton Park Flower Show

Our holiday with Avanti Coach Travel in 2024 will include visits to RHS Bridgewater and RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. The full itinerary, timings  and costs have been sent to those booked on the holiday. We will be staying at the Best Western Hotel Frodsham, four nights dinner, bed and breakfast. Members and affiliated society members only.  This holiday is fully booked and has a waiting list.
