Talk by Peter Skeggs-Gooch on A Complete Guide to Clematis. Peter is the third- generation owner of award-winning Thorncroft Clematis. Having grown up living at the nursery, Peter has been surrounded by clematis from five years old. This talk will cover all you want to know. Visitors £2.
Talk on Cottage Cures and Superstitions by Andrew Sankey. An amusing talk by Andrew on various plants, their uses, supposedly medicinal properties and connected superstitions. Find out why folk swallowed live spiders or rolled in beds of nettles! Refreshments available and raffle held. Visitors £2, members free.
Talk by Kristopher Harper-Allison on Care and Maintenance of Fuchsias. Kristopher is a holder of a National Plant Collection of Fuchsias. His talk will cover taking cuttings, pinching and shaping, pests and diseases, over-wintering, and growing media.
We are pleased to welcome Matt Willer of the Papillon Project along to our September meeting. He will be outlining how the project works with schools. Guests will be made very welcome to this meeting (£2.50 fee). The members’ competition will be “a foliage pot plant”.
