Royal Norfolk Show Flower Arrangement Competition


Entry Classes

Open to any flower club or horticultural society
Staged by 2-3 Club members.

An exhibit to be staged on a round. 120cm diameter base provided and raised approx.10cm from ground. Own covering and skirt to be provided. Height optional. To be viewed and judge all round.

A pedestal exhibit. Space allowed: width 120cm; depth 120cm. Staged on grass.  Own base optional. To be viewed and judged all round. Height optional.
Something suitable for a Ladies Day at a horseracing meet, staged with an image of the outfit to be worn with.  Could be a fascinator, circlet, comb, clip, skull cap, hat or any combination of any of those.  Space allowed 50cm width x 80cm depth. No height restriction. Staged on tabling, 65cm from ground, staging grey. Please supply own display stand/material.
This Class will be judged under Society of Floristry Rules.


An exhibit in which no floral foam is used. Space allowed: width 70cm; depth 80cm; height 120cm. Staged on tabling 65cm from ground. Staging grey against marquee side.


Plants and flowers exhibit. Space allowed: width 70cm; depth 80cm; height optional. Staged on tabling 65cm from ground. Staging grey against marquee side.


Petite exhibit. Space allowed: width 25cm; depth 25cm; height 37cm. May be brought ready assembled.  Viewed and judged all round and from above.


Regulations

1. Open to all members of NAFAS Flower Clubs and members of NNHS.

2. A Novice is defined as a person who has not won a First Prize at a NAFAS show.

3. All entries are classed as exhibits and judged in accordance with NAFAS Competitions Manual 4th Edition 2023 available from nafas.org.uk, except for Class 3 Floristry Class. This class will be judged under Society of Floristry Rules.

4. Except for Classes 1,2 & 6 which are judged all round, all other classes to be judged from the front.

5. The judges’ decisions shall be final, unless a protest in writing against a decision by them be lodged with the Floral Art Co-ordinators by 2pm on the day of judging.

6. All exhibits must be the unaided work of the competitor(s) and must be assembled in the marquee with the exception of Classes 6, 8, 9 & 10, which may be submitted already assembled.

8. Classes 1, 6, 8, 9 & 10 WILL NOT be included in the Best in Show Award.

9. Aerosol sprays MUST NOT be used in the marquee

10. No artificial plant material may be used.

11. All exhibits and exhibitor’s property will be at the risk of the exhibitor and the NNHS & RNAA accepts NO liability whatsoever for loss or damage sustained by any exhibit or competitor or their property.

12. Exhibits MUST NOT be removed before show closure on Thursday.

Staging

13. STAGING TIMES: Club Class may be staged from 1pm and other Classes from 2pm on Tuesday 24 June 2025. The marquee must be vacated, and all rubbish cleared, by 8pm on Tuesday 24 June.

14. All measurements in the staging instructions are approximate. All exhibits must be staged in the space provided.

15. Exhibitors’ cards MUST be collected from the Floral Art Co-ordinators and displayed face down on the exhibit prior to judging.

16. No photography during staging.

17. ALL RUBBISH TO BE REMOVED BY THE EXHIBITOR(S).

18.  Access to the showground is via the King George VI Gate in the bus layby on Dereham Road, Norwich, NR5 0TT.  Help may be available with trolleys to transport items to the marquee.  DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR ONTO THE SHOWGROUND.  Please do not arrive early.

19. The organisers reserve the right to stage entries away from marquee side.

Book tokens will be awarded to the winners of the two age categories in Class F9 and F10 (Junior Class) – these are ‘Under 12′ and ’12 to 16’.

Classes F2, F3, F4, F5  1ST £8   2ND £5   3RD £3

Prize money and awards will be presented in the Marquee at 4.30pm on Thursday 26 June:

Tickets: each exhibitor will receive one car pass and one entry ticket except in classes F6, F8, F9 and F10.
